What We Technically Verify
MCS Certification
We verify the live MCS membership number against the public register at mcscertified.com — not just a certificate PDF. Membership status is checked for current validity, not historic certification.
RECC & TrustMark
RECC (Renewable Energy Consumer Code) and TrustMark are consumer protection marks. We verify active status on both registries. RECC provides an ADR scheme; TrustMark is government-endorsed for quality.
NICEIC Electrical
Solar PV involves notifiable electrical work under Part P. NICEIC approval means annual technical assessment. Critical for DNO G98/G99 notifications and insurance validity with SPEN and SSEN.
Brand Certifications
We verify manufacturer training certificates: SolarEdge Certified Installer, Enphase Installer Network, Tesla Powerwall Certified, GoodWe Approved Installer. Brand certification unlocks extended warranties and direct technical support.
Storm Zone Capability
Scotland spans Wind Zones A-C under BS 6399-2. Zone C (Highlands, Islands, West Coast) requires engineered racking systems rated for extreme wind loads. We verify each partner's Storm Zone installation track record and equipment approvals.
Listed Building Experience
Scotland's 47,000+ listed buildings and 650+ conservation areas require planning consent from local authorities and compliance with Historic Environment Scotland guidance. We verify documented consent success history.

What does "engineering-grade" verification mean?
Engineering-grade verification means we assess each partner installer against 11 objective technical criteria — not just reviews or price. We check live MCS membership numbers, NICEIC electrical approvals, brand-specific training certificates (e.g. SolarEdge Certified Installer), Storm Zone ratings, and insurance levels. This technical depth goes far beyond standard comparison sites.
How many criteria are checked per partner installer?
We verify 11 criteria for every partner installer in our network: MCS membership status, RECC compliance, TrustMark accreditation, NICEIC electrical certification, brand training (SolarEdge, Enphase, Tesla), past Scottish project case studies, workmanship warranty terms, Storm Zone capability, listed building experience, regional specialisation, and public liability insurance level.
Do partner installers have brand-specific training?
Yes. Brand-specific training is one of our 11 verification criteria. We confirm whether each partner holds current manufacturer certification for the brands they install — SolarEdge Certified Installer, Enphase Installer Network, Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer, or GoodWe Approved Installer. Brand-trained installers access technical support and extended equipment warranties unavailable to uncertified installers.
What is Storm Zone capability and why does it matter in Scotland?
Scotland is divided into Wind Zones A, B, and C under BS 6399-2, with Zone C covering the Highlands, Islands, and exposed coastal areas experiencing the highest wind loads. Solar panel racking and fixings must be engineered for the specific zone. We verify each partner's Storm Zone capability — critical for Highland, Orkney, Shetland, and West Coast installations where an uncertified racking system could fail under storm conditions.
Can you match me with a listed building specialist?
Yes. Listed building experience is verified as one of our 11 criteria. Scotland has over 47,000 listed buildings and 650+ conservation areas — concentrated heavily in Edinburgh, St Andrews, Stirling, and Perth. Our Partner C specialises in conservation and listed work, with planning consent experience across multiple Scottish councils and knowledge of Historic Environment Scotland requirements.
Which partner has Highland installation experience?
Partner B specialises in Highland and Islands installations. This includes experience with SSEN network G99 connections, HES rural uplift applications (£1,500 additional grant for rural properties), off-grid and hybrid system design, Storm Zone C racking, and logistics for remote property access. Partner B also holds Highlands & Islands Enterprise supplier certification.
What insurance levels are verified?
We verify public liability insurance at two tiers: £5M and £10M. For standard residential installations, £5M public liability is MCS-compliant. For commercial, listed building, or high-value properties, we recommend £10M-verified partners. All partners also carry product liability and professional indemnity insurance, details of which are available on request.
Are past Scottish projects available to review?
Yes. Past Scottish project case studies are one of our 11 verification criteria. We hold anonymised project records for each partner covering system size, location type, DNO network, roof type, and post-installation performance data. These are available during your technical consultation — giving you engineering evidence rather than marketing claims.
Why does NICEIC electrical certification matter for solar?
Solar panel installation involves AC/DC electrical work including inverter connection, consumer unit modification, and grid connection notification (G98/G99). NICEIC approval means the installing electrician is assessed annually against BS 7671 wiring regulations. Non-NICEIC electrical work may not be accepted by your DNO (SPEN or SSEN), could void your home insurance, and will fail MCS certification — making SEG export payments impossible.
Is Solar Panel Installers Pro an installer?
No. Solar Panel Installers Pro is a specialist technical verification and matching consultancy — not an installer. We do not carry out physical solar panel installations. Our role is to technically verify partner installers against 11 engineering criteria and match Scottish homeowners and businesses with the most qualified MCS-certified partner for their specific property, location, and requirements. Installations are carried out by our verified partner network.
